We continue our work on the Dromana community facilities planning project, this includes reviewing the community facilities in Dromana to understand whether they meet the local community’s current and future needs. As part of this project, we’re engaging with stakeholder groups to get an understanding of how they use the existing facilities and whether they have any unmet needs. Now, we’re ready to hear from all residents in or near Dromana.
In Dromana alone, the Shire owns and maintains 16 facilities:
Dromana Community Hall
Dromana Community House
Dromana Country Bowls Club
Dromana Memorial Hall (also known as Dromana Foreshore Hall)
Dromana Life Saving Club
Dromana Old Shire Offices
Dromana Preschool
Don McKenzie Pavilion (Dromana Recreation Reserve)
Eric Oakes Pavilion (Dromana Recreation Reserve)
Dromana Seniors Citizens Centre
Dromana Tourist Information Centre
Dromana Maternal and Child Health Centre
Marna Reserve Pavilion (also known as Dromana Netball Pavilion)
Dromana Tennis Club Pavilion
Safety Beach & Dromana Mens Shed
Safety Beach Sailing Club and Community Centre.
In previous years, community members have been excited about the idea of bringing some of these facilities together to build a bigger, multi-use ‘hub’. Post pandemic, we need to check if the feedback from previous consultations is still relevant and work with the community to develop an infrastructure plan that meets the needs of the community. Have your say How do you use the existing facilities? Are there any unmet needs? Provide your feedback and let us know!
