Dromana Community House Inc. provides a flexible Occasional Care service, known as Take-A-Break, to provide respite for parents/guardians of young children (approx. 18 months old to pre-primary) to help you participate in activities including recreational classes and activities, paid work, shopping, social events and voluntary community activities. We are located in the heart of Dromana at Fifteen Gibson street.
Classified under the Children’s Services Regulations 2009 as a Limited Hours Type 2 Service, means your child may be cared for and educated for up to 5 hours per day and for no more than 15 hours per week.
We offer five-hour sessions on Monday to Friday during the school term from 9am to 2pm. Take-A-Break at Dromana Community House Inc. is a warm, friendly and secure environment where children are cared for and educated by our experienced team.
We are licensed to care for up to 16 children per session and we operate 1:5 staff/child ratio.
Our Early Learning Program is aimed at specific developmental stages and during each session children will take part in age-appropriate craft activities, enjoy songs, stories, puzzles and games that enhance and develop enquiring minds and social skills.
Play based outside activities include sand and water play in our mud kitchen, bike riding and ball games.
The team of Early Childhood Educators
Our team of Early Childhood Educators is lead by Claddgha Nicholls who is available to discuss your child's care and education needs.
You may enrol for the term but must prepay every two weeks to hold your child’s place.
The childcare enrolment package, Xplor will allow you to enrol and update your details and to keep in touch easily. Xplor is a compliant secure package that you must link to.
Once you are offered a permanent place, this is your child’s place for the term or until you inform us otherwise (we require 2 weeks’ notice if you no longer require spot).
We are unable to offer “Make up” sessions if you are absent or are away.
Session times are 9 am- 2 pm, Monday to Friday.
In the event that you do not require your booking on a particular day, you are required to phone (Message acceptable) 0437323 929 as soon as practical. If you are running late please advise the centre as the place will be offered to others at 9.30 am.
This allows those on the waiting list time to take that up that place.
Fees have been set accordingly by the Committee at the rate recommended to sustain this community service and offer best value, education and care in a local community setting.
If your family is planning a holiday, you may withdraw your place and re-apply. Remember you will be paying in advance two weeks for the sessions you have booked into.
Full fee: Per session per child: $58.85
You may be eligible for discounted fees providing you meet the criteria of The New Childcare Package.
You will agree to pay the predetermined rate every two weeks directly to Dromana Community House Inc or through Xplor and Dromana Community House will claim the gap.
